African Mango

Today it is not surprising that many people are turning to alternative methods to regain control of their health. Ironically, in the United States the use of nutritional supplements and diets based on whole foods is relatively alternative, however this way of eating has been a common practice in Asian societies, with profound ancient roots. Due to the popularity of these products, these days, more and more research and development has gone in search of the best compounds that can be extracted from plants. One of the more recent discoveries is known as African Mango (despite having no relationship with the current species of mango in the tropics). Indeed, the handle which is used as a supplement to lose weight is unrelated to the mango, despite being called African mango fruit. In reality, the scientific name of the plant is Irvingia gabonensis, which is often reduced to the IGOB131 which is much more manageable. The active compound in IGOB131 is only found in the seeds of this plant, and not the fruit or leaves.

African mango is a plant that only grows in Africa, in the rainforests of Cameroon, to be exact. What scientists have discovered is that the product that is now known as African Mango seems to have a positive effect on efforts to lose weight. To better understand this, a recent study of 10 weeks, the scientists found that the test subjects lost an average of 28 pounds, 6.7 inches from their waist, and a 18.4% body fat. While this probably sounds impressive if only, in the test subjects also noted a reduction of 26% in total cholesterol, a reduction of 27% in LDL cholesterol, as well as a blood test in fasting which showed the reduction of 32% in the level of glucose. The studies also concluded that African mango helps increase the levels of leptin. This is a hormone in the body that tells the brain that you block the sensation of hunger (because you just of foods, for example). Unfortunately, over time may be common to develop a resistance to the signal that leptin sends to the brain, which can cause excess weight. Because of the profound effect that has the IGOB131 in leptin, it is possible that this compound can benefit people who want to lose weight.
